Maranta Leuconera, also known as the prayer plant, is an ornamental house plant grown for its beautiful and attractive foliage. Leuconera refers to the plant’s white veined leaves that lay flat during the day and fold in an erect position during the night as though in prayer. Hence the common name as prayer plant.
Native to South America (Brazil), Prayer plant is a slow growing perennial plant, reaching a height upto 1 foot when grown indoors.
