This plant species, Cheridopsis purpurea is a small tufted succulent that grows into big clumps or dwarf shrublets as it matures. When the leaves are young, they are connected together; as they get older, they separate. They have clear spots and a typical blue-green colour. They are triangular and keeled, occasionally having teeth along the keel. Old leaves continue to grow and eventually produce corky, brown sheaths that cover the new growth.
